Ok i just finished watching a malay movie at TV3 called "Ihsan", and i feel like blogging about it. I'll post about whats i've been up to later. Heh.

First let me tell about the movie. It's a cliche storyline; about a son who abandons his parents to marry a rich person's daughter. So the movie started off with the crazy person who is always tailing this lawyer named Zamri. So one day the lawyer decided to find out who the crazy person is. He found two people who used to work with this crazy person. He was told that the crazy person is an ex-lawyer named Nordin. So Zamri told this two fellas to tell him why Nordin was crazy and tailing him wherever he go at work.

So the story of Nordin goes like this. He wanted to make it big as a magistrate, and made promises to his parents that he'll take very good care of them when he is successful. He finally made as a magistrate an owns his own firm. Then he suddenly disappeared. His father then found out that he was gonna get married to a rich man's daughter a day before his marriage. So the father went home and told his mother about it; that their son is to ashamed to let his bride's family know his parents were of middle class people. So the father told the mother not to go to the wedding, but she insisted. So she went there the next day, only to be spotted by Nordin from far and was told to go away, to the extend that he pushed her to make her go away. At this point, his wife saw, then he pretended that his mother was a client who was insistent on him handling a case even though it was his wedding. His mother just kept quiet and cried.

So time flies and Nordin enjoys his luxurious life. At one point of time his mother came to his big bungalow to give him food, but again, he treated his mother like an animal and forced he into a cab to be sent away. From this point onwards his mother became ill, and at home, while with the father, she said that Nordin is no son of hers. Soon Nordin's wealth diminished, his firm went bankrupt, and he owe people a lot of money. He lost his job, then he lost his wife when his wife finally found out that he had lied to her all along about his parents, then lost his house. He finally lost his mind as well.

So Zamri decided to confront the mentally unbalanced Nordin why he was stalking him. Nordin said he liked watching Zamri as he represents the son that Nordin wasn't; an honest successful lawyer with a loyal wife. So Zamri decided to sent Nordin back to his parents. It turned out his parents have moved back to their village, and just as they reach the village, his mother passed away and the villagers were saying prayers for her. Nordin didn't get a chance to apologize to his mother; he went berserk and said that the body wasn't his mother and ran around the village, where it tripped and died among rocks.

During the funeral process, while cleansing Nordin's body, the Tok Imam and his helpers were stunned by the awful carcass smell that was coming from the body. So 2 bodies were to be send to the graveyard; one is Nordin and the other is his mother. His mother's coffin was carried up by 4 people as usual, but for his, twice the number of people were needed. His coffin was suddenly very heavy. As they reached the graveyard, his coffin couldn't fit into the hole. 3 times the villagers dug the hole bigger, 3 times the coffin still couldn't fit in. Finally the Tok Imam said to the father that it is time to forgive his son, and he did so, and finally the coffin could fit into the hole in the ground. Just as they were about to cover the whole, his wife came running and said she wanted to see him one last time. As the yopen his coffin and uncovered his face, they were shocked and his wife fainted; his face has already decomposed and there were maggots all over the face.

As both bodies were finally buried. Zamri sat by a tree. The Tok Imam said to him that we must always be loyal to our parents as they have brought us up and will always care for us. As he said that, Zamri cried. After the event, he went to his mother's kampung and seeked forgiveness from his mother, who was actaully disappointed with him as he put his work in front of his mother. The show ended with both hugging each other in tears.

And i was in tears as well. Heh. It was a damn touching show, and its as if i'm living Zamri's role. Its really scary to know what would happen if we ever were derhaka towards our parents, especially our mother, who carried us around for nine months and brought us to this world. I can't imagine what's it like not to have my parents around. I love my mother and father so much!!! So lets just reflect on how we have been treating our parents, and i think just by saying that we love them every morning would make their day so much happier.

Till then people. Adios.
